Future Fortunes’ Legends was created to recognize the pioneers who have played major roles in shaping the sport of barrel racing. Our industry today is a direct result of their innovative efforts.
The Indiana Barrel Racing Futurity, beginning in 1975, was the first barrel futurity east of the Mississippi River and has grown into one of the country’s top events. Raymond and Vickie Duke from Whiteland, Indiana, along with Bruce and Jeanette Smith and Mel and Ce Ce Daniels, created an event that would transform the industry. It is only fitting that the event that started the Future Fortunes program be inducted into Future Fortunes’ Legends. Congratulations on their 50th Anniversary!
